Casa Antigua LLC: Copag will celebrate its centennial in 2008. In addition to the Centennial cards, how else will Copag celebrate this special occasion?
Eduardo Soares: Lots of activities are going to take place in Copag this year, as you have mentioned we launched a commemorative deck in a tin case as a limited edition. We are working in a special edition for our best seller 1546 which should be on the US market by April. We are publishing a book telling about the Copag history over the 100 years, this book will be sent to our main customers, suppliers, etc. Also, a big celebration will take place in October at our facilities in Manaus Brazil.
Casa Antigua LLC: Copag was virtually alone in 2004 when it entered the U.S. plastic playing card market. Now consumers have many brands to choose from. What do you believe mainly distinguishes Copag cards from other brands?
Eduardo Soares: As mentioned, Copag is turning 100 years in 2008. It took a lot of research and investment to accomplish the high standards achieved by our products, recognized by the most exigent consumers all over the world. We strongly believe that by offering the best quality at a fair price, along with an outstanding customer service, is what distinguishes our products from our competitors.
Casa Antigua LLC: Could you please give our readers the definitive instructions for storing, cleaning and generally taking care of Copag plastic playing cards?
Eduardo Soares: Copag cards are made of 100% plastic materials, this way we have to be careful with higher and lower temperatures and keep the product in a room temperature.
In order to clean the cards we sugest the following steps:
Use cold water, mild neutral soap solution and a soft cloth only. Never use hot water for washing
Clean only a few cards at a time.
Rub very lightly on both sides to avoid removing the coating and rinse quickly.
Dry thoroughly at once using a clean, soft cloth.
Spread cards on a table and allow up to one hour on each side to dry; avoid direct sunshine or proximity of heating sources.
Never wash Copag cards in a dishwasher machine.
Casa Antigua LLC: What is the difference, if any, between Copag plastic playing cards made for casinos and those made for the consumer market?
Eduardo Soares: Actually, there is no difference between the plastic cards made for casinos and the retail plastic cards as far as quality concerns. We do have security features, as well as different designs and sales control, to supply casinos and poker rooms.
Casa Antigua LLC: What do you believe Copag can do better, whether in terms of its products or as a company?
Eduardo Soares: We at Copag believe that there is always something we can improve, either to develop a better product, to continue being environment friendly or to grow as human beings.
Casa Antigua LLC: Anything else you would like our readers to know about Copag plastic playing cards?
Eduardo Soares: Since Copag decided to became a choice in high end plastic playing cards for the US market we knew that the customers were longing to have a better customer service, as well as a company committed to new technologies to provide the best quality. We would like to reaffirm that Copag is always pursuing the best to meet our customer’s needs.
Casa Antigua LLC: Thank you very much for taking the time to participate in this interview.
Eduardo Soares: First of all we would like to congratulate your company for the great job you have been doing in this market and thank you for the opportunity you are providing us to address such important matters.
